Enjoy a live performance by AbSOULute on Friday, August 30 starting at 7:00 PM. Join us for eclectic live music outside on the lawn behind Brand Library & Art Center. Visitors are welcome to bring a chair or blanket and picnic on the grassy hillsides in Brand Park. Seats are not provided. Performances run 60 - 90 minutes without intermission. Performances may be experienced by children and families.

The popularity of Los Angeles’ premier R&B, Funk, Soul, and Classic Rock band, AbSOULute, has been growing steadily since its inception in early 2017. The band’s strengths include its fabulous dance-hit repertoire, soulful vocals, a driving rhythm section and a dynamic horn section.

AbSOULute is a 10-piece band featuring lead vocals, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboards and a 3-piece horn section. The band features male and female lead vocalists, allowing them to cover a wide range of soul, R&B, funk and even classic rock hits. The band’s musical goal is to keep the audience entertained, singing along and dancing by delivering a relentless stream of the most popular, highly danceable and well-loved songs from artists like Stevie Wonder, Sly and the Family Stone, Chicago, Chaka Khan, Earth Wind & Fire, The Average White Band, Tower of Power, Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin, The Isley Brothers and many others.

The Brand Summer Music Series began in 2014 and is supported by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, through funding from the Urban Art Program, with support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Glendale Community Services and Parks, and the Brand Associates.

Free, limited parking is available in Brand Park. An accessible entrance and accessible parking for cars with a disabled parking placard or license plate is located on the East side of Brand Library.
