FEBRUARY'S Sewing Club project is "Sew a Coffee Cozy!"

Register for the FEBRUARY Sewing Club!  You will get to join a live Zoom class hosted by a Makerspace expert who will introduce you to a DIY project, give tips, step by step instructions and sew with you.  Then, after you have started your project, join again for another session to ask questions, sew more and share your projects!  FEBRUARY'S  Sewing Club project is "Sew a Coffee Cozy!" You will get the chance to make 2 colorful coffee cozies, one to keep for yourself or share as a gift.

The second session of this Saturday, February 5th workshop will be held on Saturday, February 19th, 10:30am-12:30pm. You should plan on attending both sessions.

Please Note: Some of the supplies for this class will be made available to registrants for pick up at Glendale Central Library.

After your registration, the maker kit for this class will be prepared and placed on hold for you. You will then receive a hold notice stating that the maker kit is ready for pick up. Please wait for the “ready for pickup” email notice before going to Glendale Central Library. You may pick it up using our contactless pickup: https://www.eglendalelac.org/contactless-pickup or in-person services: https://www.eglendalelac.org/in-person-services.  

Materials Needed:

Included in the Maker Kit:

  • 1 – pattern (pattern includes body and heart)
  • 2 – 4.5”x13” fabric A
  • 2 – 4.5”x13” fabric B
  • 1 – 2”x4” felt (pink, red or white)
  • 2 - 4”x13” fusible fleece
  • 2 – 2” long Velcro

Not Included in the Maker Kit:

  • Matching Sewing Thread – red, pink or white
  • Sewing Machine
  • Iron & ironing board
  • Scissors for Fabric
  • Small scissors for thread
  • Pins
  • Scissors for paper
  • Paper and Pen
  • Ruler
  • Fabric Chalk or Marker
  • Measuring tape
  • Black Marker
  • Sewing Needle

Supplies that are not included in the supply bag are needed to complete the project. Please have them ready for the workshop day.

*Some notes about virtual maker workshops:

You will receive a link to the virtual workshop with additional login information up to 2 days prior to the workshop's date.

It is highly recommended you have a device with a webcam so that if you need assistance you may show the instructor your project. If you cannot have a camera on during this class, the instructor will not be able to assist you.

Registered participants must give 48 hour cancellation notice to allow others on the waiting list to attend. Failure to cancel with adequate notice may result in loss of the ability to register for future workshops.
