Join this virtual workshop to learn how to play the recorder.

Learn to play the recorder in this live 1-hour workshop via Zoom.  An experienced teacher will guide you from the ground up, starting with the basics and moving into simple tunes.  The workshop will be followed by a half-hour Q&A for anyone who has further questions.  The library will provide a recorder to any student that needs one. (And yes, you get to keep it!)

Please Note: The following supplies be provided and will be available for pick up at Pacific Park Library during the month of March on designated dates and times. After registering, wait for an email stating that your Maker Kit is ready for pickup. The email will also include instructions on how to pick up the Maker Kit. The Pacific Park Library is currently closed and will only be open for Maker Kit pickups, therefore it is important that you wait for the confirmation email stating your Maker Kit is ready.

Materials Needed:

Included in the Maker Kit:

  • Plastic recorder
  • Fingering chart

It is highly recommended you have a device with a webcam so that if you need assistance you may show the instructor your project. If you cannot have a camera on during this class, the instructor will not be able to assist you.

If you have limited data access or wifi connectivity problems, consider checking out a Mobile Hotspot from the library before the workshop date by requesting it here: http://glendale.iii.com/iii/encore/record/C__Rb1643364 and picking it up using our curbside service: https://www.eglendalelac.org/curbside.

Registered participants must give 48 hour cancellation notice to allow others on the waiting list to attend. Failure to cancel with adequate notice may result in loss of the ability to register for future workshops.
