American Mah-Jongg
With Instruction for Beginners!

Whether you're an experienced player or brand new to American Mah-Jongg, there's a place for you! Drop in for regular play or register for this three-session beginner series (space is limited).
Come watch. Come learn. Come play.
Mah-Jongg is a game of skill, strategy, calculation, and a little bit of luck! Players who already know how to play are welcome to join our weekly drop-in sessions—no registration is required.
If you're interested in learning, we will periodically offer a limited number of beginner spots. Beginners must register in advance and attend the first three Thursday sessions of the series, where you'll learn the game through guided instruction. After completing all three sessions, you'll be ready to join the regular Mah-Jongg games and can return to play during any future drop-in session.
Beginner space is limited, and registration is required when a beginner series is offered. August beginner sessions start on August 6 and the other two sessions are the 13th and 20th. Beginners should stop at the Library service desk for check in.

Library parking is available onsite. Parking entrance is behind the Fire Station and Library buildings on Sunset Ave. Visitors receive 3-hour free parking and 15 minutes drop off parking is available in front of the Library. Accessible parking and wheelchair ramp is available in the parking lot. Montrose Library
The Montrose Library, located on the east end of the Montrose Shopping Park, is a classic neighborhood branch library with materials and activities for adults, teens and children. Programs include adult activity based social clubs, teen volunteer programs and children's storytimes. The 1961 building offers a lot of natural light and includes a quiet room in the adult fiction area.
