Join us for an upbeat and inclusive dance class where families can learn dance combos, play, and create parts of the day’s choreography together! Registration required, recommended ages 4-12.
Join instructor Liz Vacco from Petite Feet for a class that will include follow-along warm ups, dance games, and a short dance sequence that we’ll all learn and perform as a class and/or in groups. Family Style is for parents and kids, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, best friends, partners, you name it – it’s all about dancing together with the people you love – so you decide!
Please note that kids ages 4-12 tend to enjoy Family Style activities the most, though babies can be worn and children walking to 3 years old may also have a blast.
Each family group must contain at least one adult who will participate in the class. All participating family members must be registered to attend.
About the Instructor:
Liz Vacco is a Los Angeles based arts educator, performer, and choreographer. She believes that dance is for everyone and especially enjoys introducing dance to the youngest movers with the hope that movement will be a fundamental part of their childhood and their lifelong experience. She has created a series of instructional dance videos for children entitled Petite Feet and offers dance classes in the Los Angeles area under the same name. Established in 1906.
Library services in Glendale were first provided in 1906. The women of the Tuesday Afternoon Club, a social and philanthropic organization, raised money through a series of lectures to fund a library collection. The library opened in a renovated pool room at Third and E (Wilson and Everett) Streets with seventy books, soon supplemented by a State Traveling Library of fifty more, and served a population of 1,186.
In 1907, the City Trustees passed Ordinance 53 which established and supported a library which "...shall be forever free to the inhabitants and nonresident taxpayers of the City of Glendale..." The first year the library had 251 books, 165 registered patrons, and a budget of $248.88.
In 1913, a Carnegie grant of $12,500 made possible the construction of the main library at Kenwood and Fifth (Harvard Street). The building was completed and dedicated November 13, 1914.
