Rachell Abalos is a Filipino-American kidlit writer represented by Sharon Belcastro of the Belcastro Agency. She specializes in contemporary and magical stories about her culture. Born in the United States, she spent her childhood in the Philippines, learning how to speak three different Filipino languages, taking naps, eating ice buko, and smelling fish frying outside her grandmother’s house. She has a BA in Literature and Writing.

Casa Verdugo is in Downtown Glendale on North Brand Blvd. Library parking is located on W Stocker St, between Brand Blvd. and Central (2-hour parking). Accessible parking and wheelchair access is available onsite and additional street parking is also available on Brand Blvd.

Casa Verdugo Library is an intimate community oriented library geared for families with children. We are also a destination for students seeking a quiet place to work as well as private tutoring.We have many tables with outlets for adults to use. In addition, we have weekly storytime for babies as read by our own Ms. Vivian. We also offer art programs for tweens inspired by great artists of the past as presented by Ms. Katie.
