Annual Canyon Meeting

Join other Chevy Chase Canyon community members to learn more about the library, brush clearing goats, high fire area home insurance, and more.

Join the Chevy Chase annual community meeting to get informed about issues impacting the area and learn more about services available to the community. 

Presentations will include:

• Library Perks - Enjoy a guided tour of what’s new at the library, from information about Chevy Chase Choice Hours, a program that allows Canyon residents access to the library when it’s normally closed, to all the free digital access and streaming your library card unlocks. 
• Brush-Eating Goats - The owner of Ventura Brush Goats Ventura Brush Goats will explain how his herds are being used to clear potentially dangerous wildfire underbrush from the Canyon.
• Homeowners Insurance Crisis - A local insurance expert will discuss the current California insurance crisis. Representing over 200 insurance carriers, our speaker is very familiar with the challenge of obtaining quality, affordable homeowners insurance in the Canyon, and will provide important information for Canyon residents facing steep insurance-rate increases or cancellation of their homeowners insurance policies.

This event will start with a half-hour social at 6:30pm to give Canyon neighbors a chance to reconnect. 

*This event is being organized by the Chevy Chase Estates Association but membership to the group is not required for meeting attendance. CCEA annual business (budget reading and reelecting board members) will be conducted from 7pm-7:15pm.

*Light refreshments will be provided.

Visitors to Chevy Chase Library are welcomed to park onsite. Accessible parking and wheelchair access are available in front of the Library. Additional parking is available on East Chevy Chase Dr (10 additional parking spots).
